One data engineer with a PhD in math from a top university in France got bored of working at a hedge fund, so he decided to join us in revolutionizing precision health with genetics. Another ex-Facebook employee has 6 patents under his belt and a PhD in computer science from Princeton got bored at his job and wanted a bigger challenge.
I made it clear to everyone who wanted to join, that we are solving the toughest problems in the space, and if they want to join, they need to be ready to spend their weekends thinking about and solving these problems.
So, it got me wondering…
Where do other DNA health test companies find their experts?
What started off as some general research ended up being a deep dive through every single one of our competitor’s Linkedin, website and press coverage.
I couldn’t believe what I found.
They didn’t have a problem finding their talent because they don’t have ANY of the talent necessary.
These companies don’t have a single person on their team capable of doing legitimate risk predictions based on genetics or precision health recommendations. They are using completely outdated and illegitimate methods. It’s one big scam.
One company I found had 309 employees on Linkedin and only ONE ACTUAL SCIENTIST. They are a big company in the space and marketing their product as accurate, but that’s not possible without a legitimate science team with the proper expertise.
For reference, we have 68 highly qualified scientists and engineers.
I was shocked. I knew that we were doing things better at SelfDecode, but I honestly didn’t realize how much of a scam these other companies are.
It’s not just shocking, it’s disheartening.
I got into this field because I want to allow people to make better health decisions – using their DNA, labs and other data.
