Mood Swings Risk: 99% – What Can You Do?

Written by Ashley Barrar, BS (Business Administration and Entrepreneurship) | Last updated:

Aristotle once wrote, “Happiness depends on ourselves”. It’s true that happiness comes from within, so when you’re dealing with anxiety, depression or mood swings, it’s hard not to feel like it’s your fault. Like a piece of you is missing, that you’re broken. At least that’s what it felt like to me.

At first, I didn’t even recognize what I was feeling. I was still functioning so how could it be something as “taboo” as depression? I chalked it up to stress from college, and once I graduated, it would go away.

News flash: It didn’t.

In fact, it started affecting other aspects of my life, including relationships. I felt so bogged down by brain fog and fatigue that getting up in the morning felt like a chore. Frequently, I felt the need to nap just to get through the rest of the day.

Enter Stage Right: SelfDecode and Jo’s Mood Daily.

Once I came to terms with being diagnosed with depression and anxiety by my doctor, the treatments began. I tried multiple pharmaceuticals but none of them really worked. I was on a brand name SSRI for a while, but even that seemed to need higher and higher doses to have a lasting effect. This was around this time I started working for SelfDecode and learned about DNA Wellness Reports.

Turns out, mood swings are definitely a genetic predisposition for me. If the red frowny face wasn’t indicative enough, I came out with a risk greater than 99% of the general population.

Mood Swings

I knew we were going to be releasing Mood Daily, but it wasn’t out yet, so I tried to find my own replacement (with my doctor’s approval).

WOW was it hard to do! Joe gave me the list of ingredients and I went searching.

Navigating the supplement market led me to realize there is very little oversight as to who can sell what and the quality of the ingredients used. How do you find a brand who cares about you and your health rather than their bottom line? My hours of research, reading reviews, and scouring supplement sites left me with too many bottles on my nightstand and hole in my pocket. I needed a giant pill organizer just to figure out what I needed to take when.

Then, Jo’s Mood Daily dropped.

I couldn’t believe the difference it has made in my life. For the first time in years, I can wake up without feeling groggy. I have energy again and my mood lows are in check. Jo’s Mood Daily has given me the stability and confidence to further address my underlying depression and anxiety with my doctor.

And the cherry on top?

ONLY 2 PILLS A DAY.

My nightstand (and wallet) are reclaimed!

I couldn’t be happier, and so when Joe asked if I would share my personal story to help promote Mood Daily, it was easy to say yes!
