What if you could dive deeper into your DNA to uncover more detailed health insights that others might miss?
SelfDecode was initially created as a tool to help an avid biohacker (like me) get to the next level and reach optimal health.
In the past few years, we’ve tried to make SelfDecode more accessible and understandable for everyone, while still providing the more specific information for those who thrive on the detailed actionable health data.
I’m not going to lie, it was difficult to balance.
How can we make it accessible, but not too simple so that the people that are already deep into biohacking can still use it as their main tool?
Today, we’ve released the solution.
Introducing our brand new Biohacker Mode!
What is Biohacker Mode?
With Biohacker Mode off, you’ll get a streamlined, intuitive interface that simplifies navigation and allows you to find the solution to your health problem with ease, making SelfDecode effortlessly usable.
For biohackers, once you turn on Biohacker Mode, you’ll get advanced customization options and deeper insights, enabling you to fully leverage your in-depth knowledge of genetics and labs.
Biohacker Mode: Recommendations
Your recommendations page gives you prioritized diet, lifestyle, and supplement recommendations based on your unique DNA, labs & lifestyle.
With Biohacker Mode on, you get the option to include recommendations without clinical trials.
Some recommendations lack double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trials, but could have interesting unblinded human studies, animal or mechanistic studies.
This doesn’t necessarily mean they are ineffective, but rather that they don’t have sufficient evidence for a purpose.
By turning this on, you’ll be able to explore a broader range of suggestions based on preliminary studies!
With each recommendation, you’ll also be able to see all reports with a high genetic risk that are impacted by the recommendation (whereas in non-biohacker mode, you will only see the top 5 to reduce the potential information overload.)
Biohacker Mode: DNA Reports
Biohacker Mode redefines the way you interact with your DNA Reports, making your genetic exploration not just more detailed, but more personal.
Similar to your Recommendations page, the Reports will also include recommendations that don’t have any clinical trials.
But, you’ll also be able to see what SNPs are specifically responsible for certain recommendations in your DNA Reports.
For example, in my Anxiety DNA Report, Kava is included in one of my recommendations. The dropdown in the report shows me what genetic variant is responsible for this recommendation:
You can click through on any gene or SNP and learn more!
